Last week, Connecting Windsor-Essex hosted another energizing session in our Special Topics Series: Senior Leadership Edition, bringing together leaders from across the region for a morning focused on clarity, trust, and human‑centered leadership. Held in the City of Windsor’s beautiful downtown offices, the event created space for reflection and shared learning among all eight of our core member organizations.
Human‑Centered Leadership Fundamentals
Matt Dunlop, lead facilitator and founder of Mainstream Corporate Training, led an engaging conversation on the core principles of human‑centered leadership, emphasizing empathy and psychological safety as essential foundations for modern teams. Participants discussed the challenges and benefits of applying these fundamentals within their own environments amid constant technological change and competing priorities.
Visual Storytelling Through Live Illustration
A highlight of the event was the debut of Graphic Facilitation at CWE, lead by Senior Project Manager Laura McCabe. This new offering works as a form of live, illustrated note taking – created in real time as the discussion unfolds. Her visual storytelling captured key themes, challenges, and insights, giving participants a dynamic way to see and connect the ideas emerging around the room.
